This poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe titled Welcome and Farewell has a strong Sword and Sorcery feel to it...
Translation:
My heart beats, at once to horse...
It was done as quickly as it was thought...
The evening already cradles the earth....
And on the mountains hangs the night...
The Oaktree stands already in its clothing of mist...
A towering giant there...
Where darkeness out of the bushes...
Looks on with one-hundred black eyes.
